- 80 -MS926 User’s Manual4.6.3.3 CenteringUse Centering to narrow the scan engine’s field of view to make sure thatwhen the scanner is hand-held, it reads only those bar codes intended by theuser. For instance, if multiple codes are placed closely together, centering willinsure that only the desired codes are read. (Centering can be used inconjunction with Aimer Delay, for the most error-free operation in applicationswhere multiple codes are spaced closely together. Using the Aimer Delay andCentering features, the scanner can emulate the operation of older systems, such as linear laser bar code scanners.)If a bar code is not touched by apredefined window, it will not be decoded or output by the scan engine. Ifcentering is turned on by scanning Centering On, the scan engine only readscodes that pass through the centering window you specify using the Top ofCentering Window and Bottom of Centering Window bar codes.
