Cluttered benchesand dark areas invite accidents.• Do not operate products in explosive atmospheres, suchas in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.Products create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.Electrical Safety• A battery operated product with integral batteries or aseparate battery pack must be recharged only with thespecified charger for the battery. A charger that may besuitable for one type of battery may create a risk of fire whenused with another battery.• Use battery operated product only with specificallydesignated battery pack. Use of any other batteries maycreate a risk of fire.• Use battery only with charger listed. Stable footingon a solid surface enables better control of the product inunexpected situations.• Disconnect battery pack from product or place theswitch in the locked or off position before making anyadjustments, changing accessories, or storing the product.Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of startingthe product accidentally.Product Use And Care• Do not use product if switch does not turn it on or off.A product that cannot be controlled with the switch isdangerous and must be repaired.• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from othermetal objects like: paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws,or other small metal objects that can make a connectionfrom one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminalstogether may cause sparks, burns, or a fire.• Keep the radio and its handle dry, clean and free from oiland grease. Always use a clean cloth when cleaning. Neveruse brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or anystrong solvents to clean the radio. Following this rule willreduce the risk of loss of control and deterioration of theenclosure plastic.• Do not use this apparatus near water.• Clean only with dry cloth.• Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordancewith the manufacturer’s instructions.• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heatregisters, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers)that produce heat.• Only use attachments/accessories specified by themanufacturer.Service• Product service must be performed only by qualified repairpersonnel. Service or maintenance performed by unqualifiedpersonnel may result in a risk of injury.• When servicing a product, use only identical replacementparts. Follow instructions in the Maintenance section ofthis manual. Use of unauthorized parts or failure to followMaintenance instructions may create a risk of shock or injury.• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicingis required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way,such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid hasbeen spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, theapparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does notoperate normally, or has been dropped.• Know your product.
