You may want to shorten the intervals if youhave pets or other special considerations.DefrostingManual Defrost Models - Every Two Months(Minimum)WARNINGDO NOT use any type of electrical heating device,ice pick, knife or other sharp instrument todefrost; this could damage the inner lining orrefrigeration system and void the warranty.Figure 7To defrost:1. Turn unit off.2. Remove ice bucket and discard ice.3. Place a towel or other absorbent material on bottom ofunit.4. If you would like, place warm water inside ice bucket.Then place ice bucket back into unit and close door.5. After approximately one hour, remove ice bucket anddiscard water.6. Allow the frost to completely melt naturally. Clean theinterior and ice bucket using a mild non-abrasivedetergent and warm water solution applied with a softsponge or non-abrasive cloth. NOTE: DO NOT use anysolvent-based or abrasive cleaners. They will discolor ordamage the interior.7. Dampen a soft sponge or non-abrasive cloth in cleanwater and wipe down the cabinet interior and icebucket to remove any detergent residue. Rinse thesponge or cloth in clean water and repeat as necessaryuntil the cabinet and ice bucket are clean.IMPORTANTIMPORTANTDO NOT place ice bucket in dishwasher. Dishwasherwill warp/discolor ice bucket and render it useless.Condenser CleaningInterval - Every Three MonthsTo maintain operational efficiency, keep the front grillefree of dust and lint, and clean the condenser every threemonths. Depending on environmental conditions, moreor less frequent cleaning may be necessary.WARNINGDisconnect electric power to the unit beforecleaning the condenser.To remove and replace the grille for access to thecondenser fins, follow this procedure:Figure 81. Disconnect electrical power to the unit.2. With a standard blade screwdriver or 1/4" nut driver,remove the grille screw (Figure 8, 1).3. Remove the grille.WARNINGDO NOT touch the condenser fins. The condenserfins are SHARP and can be easily damaged.IMPORTANTIMPORTANTDO NOT use any type of cleaner on the condenserunit.4. Clean the condenser coil using a soft brush with a“combing” action or vacuum cleaner. Do not touch thecondenser coil.5.
