The same audio is generallyrecorded on both systems. The VHS Hi-Fi system playson separate (left and right) channels, and the NORMALsystem plays monaural sound. The normal track isalways played so the cassette can be played on aDVD+VCR that does not have VHS Hi-Fi.BROADCAST TYPE (STEREO / SAP / MONO)Multichannel Television Sound (MTS) carries stereoand/or Second Audio Program (SAP) bilingual signals.Set this display to the desired position when both MTSstereo and SAP signals are received. When only one ofthe MTS signal is received, the DVD+VCR automaticallyselects the corresponding receiving mode (Stereo orSAP) regardless of the selected position. For normaloperation, the display should be in the STEREO posi-tion. The DVD+VCR will then record a STEREO pro-gram when available, and record a mono program IFthe program is NOT IN STEREO. For weak STEREOand/or SAP broadcasts, changing the display to monomay give clearer sound.AUDIO OUTPUT (STEREO / LEFT / RIGHT)Used during playback [when AUDIO MODE (HI-FI/NOR-MAL) is in HI-FI position] for selecting the audio outputsignals from the AUDIO OUT terminals (L ch and R ch),and RF.OUT. This display setting should normally be leftin the stereo position, so that when a stereo tape isplayed, the stereo sound will be heard through the leftand right channels. If a mono tape is played and theaudio output is set to stereo, the same mono sound willbe heard from both left and right channels.Initial Settings - VCR (Continued) |
