Checking the Engine-OilLevelService Interval: Before each use or dailyCrankcase capacity: approximately 7.6 L (8 US qt)with the filterUse high-quality engine oil that meets the followingspecifications:• API Classification Level Required: CH-4, CI-4 orhigher• Preferred oil: SAE 15W-40 (above 32°C (0°F))• Alternate oil: SAE 10W-30 or 5W-30 (alltemperatures)Toro Premium Engine oil is available from yourdistributor in either 15W-40 or 10W-30 viscosity.1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower thecutting units, engage the parking brake, shut offthe engine, and remove the key.2. Release the engine cover latch and open thehood.3. Remove the dipstick, wipe it clean, and installit (Figure 36).g012280Figure 361. Dipstick4. Remove dipstick and check oil level on dipstick.The oil level should be up to the FULL mark.5. If the oil level is below the FULL mark, removethe fill cap (Figure 37) and add oil until levelreaches the FULL mark on dipstick.Important: Do not overfill.g012281Figure 371.
