Pre-MaintenanceProceduresDo not tilt the machine unless it is necessary. If youtilt the machine, engine oil could enter the cylinderhead of the engine, and hydraulic fluid could leak fromthe cap located on top of the tank. These leaks mayresult in expensive repairs to the machine. To performservice under the deck, lift the machine with a hoist ora small crane.Maintenance Safety• Before adjusting, cleaning, repairing, or leavingthe machine, do the following:– Park the machine on a level surface.– Move the throttle switch to the low-idle position.– Ensure that the traction is in neutral.– Engage the parking brake.– Shut off the engine.– Wait for all moving parts to stop.– Allow machine components to cool beforeperforming maintenance.• If possible, do not perform maintenance while theengine is running. Keep away from moving parts.• Use jack stands to support the machine orcomponents when required.• Carefully release pressure from components withstored energy.LubricationLubricating the Drive-RollerBearingService Interval: Before each use or daily (lubricateimmediately after washing).Grease Type: No. 2 lithium grease1. Wipe the area clean so that foreign mattercannot be forced into the bearing.2. Pump grease into the grease fitting as shownin Figure 29.g036790g036789Figure 293.
