Remove the dipstick and check the oil level.Note: If the oil level is near or below thelower-limit mark on the dipstick, add only enoughoil to raise level to the upper-limit mark (bottomedge of the oil-fill hole); refer to Figure 18. Install the oil-filler cap/dipstick and wipe up anyspilled oil.Note: Running the engine with the oil level at thelower limit may induce nuisance engine shutdowns inoperating situations where the machine is switchingdirection on an incline or descent.Checking the Level of theHydraulic FluidService Interval: Before each use or dailyThe hydraulic system is filled at the factory withhigh-quality hydraulic fluid. Check the level of thehydraulic fluid before the engine is first startedand daily thereafter.Note: Before working on any part of the hydraulicdrive system, shut off the engine to depressurize thesystem. Before starting the engine after hydraulicsystem maintenance, and pressurizing the hydrauliclines, check all hoses and connectors for damage andto ensure that they are tight. Replace any damagedhoses and tighten any loose couplings as required.Recommended Hydraulic Fluid: Toro Premium AllSeason Hydraulic Fluid (Available in 5 US gallonpails or 55 US gallon drums. Refer to the parts catalogor contact your Authorized Toro Distributor for partnumbers.)Alternative fluids: If the Toro fluid is not available,other conventional, petroleum-based fluids may beused, provided they meet all of the following materialproperties and industry specifications.
