0Master Valve An automatic or manual control valvelocated between the irrigation water source and thesprinkler system valves and/or backflow preventer.Normally ClosedA switch or control device that remains closed (off)unless energized or activated by a control source.Normally OpenA switch or control device that remains open (on) unlessenergized or activated by a control source.Odd/Even ScheduleAn Odd or Even watering day schedule based on eitherall odd-or even-numbered calendar days.Outdoor Timer ModelA timer model with suitable for outdoor installation.Plug-in ModuleA small module that plugs into the ECXTRA that pro-vides for the connection two additional watering zones.Power SupplyThe plug-in transformer used to supply 24 VAC to thetimer from 115 VAC house current.Pump/Master Valve ControlThe timer automatically turns on the Pump/Master Valvecircuit at the beginning of each watering cycle.Pump Delay TimeThe Pump/Master Valve control circuit is energizedbefore a program watering cycle begins, and is adjust-able from 1 to 60 seconds. This feature enables thepump to pressurize or master valve to open completelyprior to the start of the watering cycle.Pump Start RelaySince the timer is not designed to connect directly tothe pump, a 24 VAC pump start relay switch must beinstalled between the timer and pump start circuit.Rain DelayThis feature enables all watering operations to bedelayed from 1 to 7 days. For example, rain is forecastfor the next two days, and instead of turning the timer off(and possibly forgetting to turn it back on), a rain delay of3 days can be set. At the end of 3 days, the timer auto-matically resumes watering operation as scheduled.Rain SensorA rain sensor is a remote sensing device that signals thetimer to postpone automatic watering operation when rainhas been detected. The timer resumes watering operationas scheduled when signaled by the rain sensor.Rain Sensor Control SwitchThe rain sensor control switch is provided to overriderain sensor operation as needed.Rain Sensor Configuration SwitchRain sensors are available in normally open (NO) andnormally closed (NC) configurations. The type used withthe ECXTRA is selected with the corresponding switchsetting.SchedulingPlanning how long to water (zone run time), when towater (program start time) and which days to water(watering days).
