Two threads or less should beshowing (Figure 40).6. If more than two threads are showing remove nutand install washer between hub and nut.7. Torque the slotted nut to 125 ft-lb. (170 N•m)(Figure 40).8. Tighten the nut until the next set of slots line up withthe hole in the shaft (Figure 40).9. Replace the cotter pin.Adjusting the Caster PivotBearingService Interval: Every 500 hours or at storage, whichever comes first.1. Disengage the PTO, move the motion control leversto the neutral locked position and set the parkingbrake.2. Stop the engine, remove the key, and wait for allmoving parts to stop before leaving the operatingposition.3. Remove the dust cap from caster and tighten locknut (Figure 41).4. Tighten the locknut until the spring washers are flatand then back off a 1/4 turn to properly set thepre-load on the bearings (Figure 41).Important: Make sure spring washers areinstalled correctly as shown in Figure 41.5.
