Drive SystemMaintenanceAdjusting the TrackingThe tracking knob is located under the seat.Rotating this knob allows fine tuning adjustments so thatthe machine tracks straight with the drive levers in the fullforward position.1. Run the machine at 3/4 speed for at least 5 minutes tobring the hydraulic fluid up to operating temperature.Stop the machine and wait for all moving parts to stop.2. Engage the parking brake.3. Unlatch the seat and tilt the seat forward to gain accessto the tracking knob. Refer to Unlatching the Seat(page 22).4. Rotate the knob toward the right to steer right androtate toward the left to steer left.5. Adjust in 1/8 turn increments until the machine tracksstraight.6. Check and ensure the machine does not creep when itis in neutral with the parking brake disengaged (Figure50).g025157Figure 501. Tracking knobChecking the Tire PressureService Interval: Every 40 hoursMaintain the air pressure in the rear tires at 103 kPa (15 psi).Uneven tire pressure can cause uneven cut. Check the tireswhen they are cold to get the most accurate pressure reading.Note: The rear tire is a semi-pneumatic tire and does notrequire air-pressure maintenance.Figure 51Note: Do not add any type of tire liner or foam fill materialto the tires.Checking the Wheel Lug NutsService Interval: After the first 100 hoursEvery 500 hoursCheck and torque the wheel lug nuts to 122 to 129 N-m (90to 95 ft-lb).Checking the Wheel Hub NutsService Interval: After the first 100 hoursEvery 500 hoursCheck and ensure that the torque of the slotted nut is 373 to475 N-m (275 to 350 ft-lb).Adjusting the Caster PivotBearingsService Interval: Every 500 hours/Yearly (whichever comesfirst)1. Move the speed control lever to the NEUTRAL positionto stop the machine.2. Disengage the PTO, engage the parking brake, stop theengine, and wait for all moving parts to stop.3. Remove the dust cap from the caster and tighten thelocknut (Figure 52 and Figure 53).4. Tighten the locknut until the spring washers are flat andthen back off a 1/4 turn to properly set the pre-load onthe bearings (Figure 52 and Figure 53).Important: Make sure that the spring washersare installed correctly as shown in Figure 52 andFigure 53.5. Install the dust cap.42
