Add the amount of fuel stabilizer/conditioner to freshfuel as directed by the fuel-stabilizer manufacturer.Filling the Fuel Tank1. Park the machine on a level surface, engagethe parking brake (if equipped), and lower thegrinder.2. Shut off the engine, remove the key, and allowthe engine to cool.3. Add fuel to the tank until the level is 6 to 13 mm(1/4 to 1/2 inch) below the bottom of the fillerneck.Important: This space in the tank allowsfuel to expand. Do not fill the fuel tankcompletely full.5. Install the fuel-tank cap securely, turning it untilit clicks.6. Wipe up any spilled fuel.Performing DailyMaintenanceBefore starting the machine each day, perform theEach Use/Daily procedures listed in Maintenance(page 19).During OperationDuring Operation SafetyGeneral Safety• Keep your hands and feet away from moving teethor other parts.– Keep bystanders and pets away from themachine and never carry passengers.– Wear appropriate clothing, including eyeprotection, long pants, substantial slip-resistantfootwear, and hearing protection.– Tie back long hair and do not wear looseclothing or loose jewelry.– Stop grinding if anyone enters the area.• Operate the machine only in areas where there issufficient clearance for you to safely maneuver.• Be aware of obstacles in close proximity to you.Failure to maintain adequate distance from trees,walls, and other barriers may result in injury as themachine backs up during operation if you are notattentive to the surroundings.• Look behind and down before backing up toensure that the path is clear.• Use your full attention while operating themachine. Do not engage in any activity thatcauses distractions; otherwise, injury or propertydamage may occur.• Never jerk the controls; use a steady motion.• The owner/user can prevent and is responsiblefor accidents that may cause personal injury orproperty damage.• Do not operate the machine when you are tired, ill,or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.• Operate the machine only in good light.• Ensure that all the drives are in neutral and engagethe parking brake before starting the engine. Startthe engine only from the operator's position.• Use care when approaching blind corners, shrubs,trees, or other objects that may obscure vision.• Stop the grinder when you are not grinding.• Stop the machine, shut off the engine, removethe key, and inspect the machine if you strikean object. Make any necessary repairs beforeresuming operation.• Never run an engine in an enclosed area.• Never leave a running machine unattended.Before leaving the operating position, do thefollowing:– Park the machine on a level surface.– Lower the grinder to the ground.14 |
