Check electrical connections, input fuses and thediagnostic light bulb to find the malfunction. Makesure the connector is secured to the wire harnessconnector.DIAGNOSTIC ACE DISPLAYThe RM 5200-D is equipped with an electroniccontroller that controls most machine functions. Forthe electronic controller function correctly, each ofthe input switches, output solenoids and relays mustbe connected and functioning properly. TheDiagnostic ACE display is a tool to help the userverify correct electrical functions of the machine.CHECKING INTERLOCKSWITCHESThe purpose of the interlock switches is to preventthe engine from cranking or starting unless thetraction pedal is in NEUTRAL, the Enable/Disableswitch is in DISABLE and the Lower Mow/Raisecontrol is in the neutral position. Also, the enginewill stop when the traction pedal is depressed whenthe operator is off the seat.To verify interlock switch function:1. Park the machine on a level surface, lower thecutting units, stop the engine and engage theparking brake.2. Open the control panel cover. Locate the wireharness and connectors near the controller.Carefully unplug the connector from harness.Figure 241. Wire Harness and Connectors3. Connect the Diagnostic ACE display connectorto the harness connector. Make sure the correctoverlay decal is positioned on the DiagnosticACE display.4. Turn the key switch to ON, but do not start themachine.Figure 251. Diagnostic ACENote: The red text on the overlay decal refersto input switches and the green text refers tooutputs.5. The “inputs displayed” LED (Light EmittingDiode) on the lower right column of theDiagnostic ACE should be illuminated. If the“outputs displayed” LED is illuminated, pressthe toggle button on the Diagnostic ACE tochange the LED to “inputs displayed”.6. The Diagnostic ACE will illuminate the LEDassociated with each input when that input21OperationTHE INTERLOCK SWITCHES ARE FOR THEPROTECTION OF THE OPERATOR ANDBYSTANDERS, AND TO ENSURE CORRECTOPERATION OF THE MACHINE, SO DO NOTBYPASS OR DISCONNECT THEM. CHECKOPERATION OF THE SWITCHES DAILY TOASSURE THE INTERLOCK SYSTEM ISOPERATING. IF A SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE,REPLACE IT BEFORE OPERATING THE 5200-D. THE CONTROLLER HAS THE ABILITY TODETECT BYPASSED SWITCHES AND MAYPREVENT THE OPERATION OF THEMACHINE IF SWITCHES ARE BYPASSED.DO NOT RELY ENTIRELY ON SAFETYSWITCHES—USE COMMON SENSE!CAUTION
