Thealarm will only sound if the built-in amplifier isused.Serial numbersMake sure the serial numbers on the bottom ofthe unit and the back of the front panel arematched correctly. Otherwise you cannot makeBLUETOOTH pairing, connection anddisconnection by NFC.Attaching the front panelEngage part of the front panel with part ofthe unit, as illustrated, and push the left sideinto position until it clicks.Setting the clockThe clock uses a 24-hour digital indication.1 Press MENU, rotate the control dial toselect [GENERAL], then press it.2 Rotate the control dial to select [CLOCK-ADJ], then press it.The hour indication flashes.3 Rotate the control dial to set the hour andminute.To move the digital indication, press SEEK+/–.4 After setting the minute, press MENU.The setup is complete and the clock starts.To display the clockPress DSPL.TipYou can set the clock automatically with the RDSfeature. For details, see “Adjusting setup items” on thereverse side of the sheet, and set to [CT-ON] (clocktime).Storing stations automaticallyCautionWhen tuning in stations while driving, use BestTuning Memory (BTM) to prevent an accident.1 Press SRC repeatedly to select [TUNER].To change the band, press MODE repeatedly.2 Press MENU, rotate the control dial toselect [GENERAL], then press it.3 Rotate the control dial to select [BTM], thenpress it.The unit stores stations in order of frequencyon the number buttons.SET UPRADIO*1 Available only for audio devices supporting AVRCP(Audio Video Remote Control Profile) 1.4 or above.*2 During USB playback, press (browse) for morethan 2 seconds to directly return to the beginning ofthe category list.*3 When a BLUETOOTH audio device (supports AVRCPof BLUETOOTH technology) is connected. Dependingon the device, certain operations may not beavailable.*4 When App Remote is established with iPhone/Android phone. Depending on the application,certain operations may not be available.*5 If App Remote is established with iPhone/Androidphone, the application name appears on the displaywhen selecting the source.*6 Available only for USB playback.*7 This button has a tactile dot.For details on BLUETOOTH operations, seethe supplied “Operating Instructions.”Warning if your car’s ignition has no ACCpositionBe sure to set the AUTO OFF function. Theunit will shut off completely andautomatically in the set time after the unit isturned off, which prevents battery drain. Ifyou do not set the AUTO OFF function, pressand hold OFF until the display disappearseach time you turn the ignition off.Playing tracks in various modesAvailable play modes differ depending on theselected sound source.1 During playback, press (repeat) or(shuffle) repeatedly to select the desiredplay mode.Playback in selected play mode may taketime to start.Pairing and connecting with aBLUETOOTH deviceWhen connecting a BLUETOOTH device (cellularphone, audio device, etc.) for the first time,mutual registration (called “pairing”) is required.Pairing enables this unit and other devices torecognize each other.1 Place the BLUETOOTH device within 1 m ofthis unit.2 Press CALL, rotate the control dial to select[PAIRING], then press it.flashes.The unit enters pairing standby mode.3 Perform pairing on the BLUETOOTH deviceso it detects this unit.4 Select [Sony Car Audio] shown in thedisplay of the BLUETOOTH device.If [Sony Car Audio] does not appear, repeatfrom step 2.CD USB iPodBLUETOOTHPlaying back an iPod/USBdevice1 Open the USB cover, then connect an iPod/USB device to the USB port.** To connect an iPod/iPhone, use the USBconnection cable for iPod (not supplied).Playback starts.If a device is already connected, to startplayback, press SRC to select [USB] ([IPD]appears in the display when the iPod isrecognized).2 Adjust the volume on this unit.To stop playbackPress and hold OFF for 1 second.To remove the deviceStop playback, then remove the device.Caution for iPhoneWhen you connect an iPhone via USB, phonecall volume is controlled by the iPhone, not theunit. Do not inadvertently increase the volumeon the unit during a call, as sudden loud soundmay result when the call ends.USB iPod5 If passkey* input is required on theBLUETOOTH device, input [0000].* Passkey may be called “Passcode,” “PIN code,”“PIN number” or “Password,” etc., depending onthe device.Input passkey[0000]When pairing is made, stays lit.6 Select this unit on the BLUETOOTH deviceto establish the BLUETOOTH connection.or lights up when the connection ismade.NoteWhile connecting to a BLUETOOTH device, this unitcannot be detected from another device.
