71 Set the FUNCTION switch to TAPE.2 Load a cassette into the cassette compartment with the side tobe played facing toward you.3 Press the PLAY 11111 button.4 To advance the tape, press the STOP/EJECT 77777 button, thenpress the F FWD 33333 button. To rewind, press the STOP/EJECT 77777 button, then press the REWIND 2 button.To interrupt playback:Press the PAUSE 66666 button during playback.Press the PAUSE 66666 button again to resume playback.To stop playback:Press the STOP/EJECT 7 button.Precautions: Be sure not to press the PLAY 11111 and REWIND 2 buttons simulta-neously, or the tape will become damaged. Before changing from one tape operation to another, press the STOP/EJECT 77777 button. Do not press the PAUSE 6 button while the fast forward or rewindoperations are in progress. The F FWD 3 or REWIND 2 buttonwill not be released when the tape end is reached. Once this occurs,press the STOP/EJECT 7 button. Cassette tape For playback, use normal or low-noise tape for the best sound. (Metalor CrO 2 tape is not recommended.) For recording, use only normaltape. Do not use C-120 tapes, or poor-quality tapes, as they may causemalfunctions. Before loading a tape into the cassette compartment, tighten the slackwith a pen or pencil. Cassettes have removable tabs which prevent accidental recording orerasing from taking place. Removing the tab will protect the corre-sponding side from being erased. Cover the tab holes with adhesivetape to erase or record again. Care of compact discsCompact discs are fairly resistant to damage, however mistracking canoccur due to an accumulation of dirt on the disc surface.Follow the guidelines below for maximum enjoyment from your CD col-lection and player. Do not write on either side of the disc, particularly the non-label side.Signals are read from the non-label side. Do not mark this surface. Keep your discs away from direct sunlight, heat, and excessive mois-ture. Always hold the CDs by the edges. Fingerprints, dirt, or water on theCDs can cause noise or mistracking.
