Mode SettingsIf necessary, you can use the following settings to improve theresponse of the answering machine hookup to incoming calls.Quiet Detect TimeThe fax machine is set to take over the line and begin reception if itdetects 4 seconds of silence after the answering machine answers. Ifneeded, you can change this setting to any number of seconds from 1to 10.♦ We recommend that you do not set Quiet Detect Time under 3seconds.♦ If the fax machine is interrupting callers before they can leave amessage, try a longer Quiet Detect Time setting. If your outgoingmessage includes a period of silence, make sure that the setting islonger than that period of silence, or re-record your outgoingmessage to shorten the silence.Note:Quiet Detect Time can be turned off by entering "00" for the time.
