INSTRUCTIONS FOR:PALLET TRUCK 1000kg 1170 x 540mm High LiftMODEL No: PT1170H.V2Thank you for purchasing a Sealey product. Manufactured to a high standard this product will, if used according to these instructionsand properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance.1. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONSIMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. NOTE THE SAFE OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, WARNINGS & CAUTIONS.USE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY AND WITH CARE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY CAUSEDAMAGE AND/OR PERSONAL INJURY AND WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY. PLEASE KEEP INSTRUCTIONS SAFE FOR FUTURE USE.2. INTRODUCTION & SPECIFICATION Only open bottomed Euro type pallets can be used to raise a load toa higher level. DO NOT use a faulty or damaged truck. Before using the truck all parts and working mechanisms should bechecked for wear or damage. Pay particular attention to the wheels,handle and fork lifting and lowering mechanism. Any parts found to beworn, damaged or suspect should be repaired or replaced before thetruck is used. All repairs must be carried out by an authorised Sealey service agent. Personnel who operate the truck and those in the vicinity of operationshould wear safety shoes with reinforced toe caps at all times. Never place any part of your body in the lifting mechanism or underthe forks or load. DO NOT allow others to ride on the truck. DO NOT lift or move unstable or loosely stacked loads. Take special care when moving long, high or wide loads in order notto dislodge the load by striking any architectural features, permanentfixtures, vehicles or people in the area of operation. Always ensure that the load is evenly distributed across the forks withthe centre of the load being at the halfway point of the length of theforks. DO NOT overload the truck - refer to the specification for maximumpermitted load. If a load is left unattended even for a very short period of time itshould be lowered to the ground. When not in use the truck should be left in the lowered position. Ensure that the width and length of the forks is correct for the pallet tobe lifted. Ensure that the truck is sufficiently inserted into the pallet to lift the fullwidth of the pallet. Use the truck on level, flat, hard surfaces. DO NOT use truck on sloping or uneven ground and DO NOT attemptto negotiate curbs, steps or ramps. The operator of the truck must be physically capable of controlling theload selected; particularly in relation to stopping a rolling load.3. ASSEMBLY3.1 Assembling the handle to the truck. (see fig.2)3.1.1 Note that the piston is constrained in the down position by a pin whichpasses through holes in the handle mounting bracket. See fig.3B. DONOT remove this pin yet.3.1.2 Identify and have ready the handle pivot pin which will have a roll pininserted through one end of it.3.1.3 Slide the base of the handle into the handle mounting bracket which isan integral part of the pump body and align the holes in the handle withthe holes in the bracket, see fig.3 below.3.1.4 Drive the pin (fig.3A) through the aligned holes from left to right using asoft faced hammer and ensure that the roll pin rests in the groove in thebracket as shown at fig.3D.3.1.5 Move the lever at the top of the handle into the lower position then passthe chain with adjusting bolt and nut through the hole in the centre ofthe handle pivot pin.3.1.6 Lower the handle to depress the piston and remove the restraint pinfrom the hole ‘B’ above thepiston, see fig 3B.3.1.7 Place the handle in thecentral ‘raise’ position.3.1.8 Press and hold down thefoot pedal seen in fig.5A.Slide the adjusting bolt andnut at the end of the chainthrought the slot in theother end of the pedal asshown in fig.3C.3.1.9 Slowly release thepressure from the footpedal. Check that theadjusting nut is securelysituated beneath the footpedal.3.1.10 Retain the handleassembly by drivinganother roll pin through theother end of the handlepivot pin.
