English 62SIMPLE/SHOOTINGHINTAdjusting the monitor brightnessi While the Recording Screen is active, you can quickly access the screenfor adjusting the brightness of the monitor by pressing the MENU button forat least 1 second.What is the camera focusing on?i A target mark & on the monitorshows the area the camera isfocusing on.i The camera automaticallydetermines the correct focus bymeasuring from 9 different focuspoints within the shooting area. If thetarget mark is at a position that isdifferent from the point you wish tofocus on, you can refocus, forexample, by changing the shootingangle.i The large target mark appears whenthe camera focuses on a wide areain the center of the screen.The focus and exposure can be locked (in the NORMAL mode)i By assigning an operation shortcut to the SET button (pages 122 and125), you can set the autofocus or the exposure to a fixed setting. Whenthe exposure setting is fixed, the P icon appears on the monitor; whenthe autofocus setting is fixed, the p icon appears on the monitor.i When the focus range (pages 46 and 86) setting or scene select setting ischanged, the focus lock is released.The shutter speed and aperture are displayed (in the NORMAL mode)i The shutter speed and aperture settings are shown on the RecordingScreen.
