49Set the zoom position to suit the subject andplace the flash unit at the desired location.Turn the flash unit on the camera on.●If the camera's built-in flash unit is part ofthe combination, pop up the built-in flashunit.Check that the ready lamp is lit, then take thepicture.●When charging is complete, a lamp on theflash unit on the camera and the ready lampon the SEF-54PZF will blink.●Position the slave unit(s) so that the slavesensor can receive the flash fired by thecamera’s built-in flash unit or attached flashunit.●The SEF-54PZF will fire at the same time thatthe camera’s flash fires.●Keep the distance from the built-in flash unitand SEF-54PZF to the subject within 4meters.●The slave unit will turn off automaticallyafter about 1 hour of non-operation when theauto power off function is set.●Do not use red-eye reduction with thecamera’s flash. This will result in the SEF-54PZF firing by the pre-flash. For the samereason, set the camera to manual focus whenfiring the flash continuously so that the AFspotbeam does not operate with camerasthat have AF spotbeam functions.567
