39Next, remove the flash unit from the cameraand place it in the desired position.●Press the flash mode button (MODE) to dis-play (P-TTL) if the flash mode was set to themodes other than P-TTL auto.Enable the built-in flash unit of the camera andset the camera flash mode to the wirelessmode ( ).Confirm that the SEF-54PZF and built-in flashunit are fully charged, and take the photo-graph. A lamp on the SEF-54PZF will blink.●In the P-TTL mode, flash output setting (1/1,2/3,1/2, and 1/3) and flash exposure compensation (-3.0 to +1.0) are possible.●The flash mode on the camera must be set to(WIRELESS), otherwise the SEF-54PZFwill not fire.● By changing the camera's function settings,you can set the built-in flash unit so that it isnot the main flash. Refer to the operatingmanual for the camera to find out how.● For test flash, refer to page 55.234Firstly, set the wireless mode and channel ofthe SEF-54PZF and register them on thecamera.① Turn the camera off and then attach theSEF-54PZF to the hot shoe of the camera.② Set the power switch of the flash unit to(WIRELESS).③ Press the wireless mode button (M/C/S) thenumber of times required to display SLAVEon the LCD panel.●You cannot set the flash unit to SLAVE whilethe exposure metering timer is on (whileinformation relating to aperture etc. is dis-played in the viewfinder).④ Slide down the setting switch to the (yellowdot) to display the channel on the LCDpanel.⑤ Press the channel button (CH) and select achannel from 1CH to 4CH.⑥ Slide the setting switch back up to the(white dot).⑦ When you turn the camera on and pressthe shutter release button halfway down,the channel is registered on the camera.1
