Or to abandon changesto this data migration job, click Cancel.Scheduling Data Migration Jobs in Batch ModeBatch mode for data migration jobs is a feature inSANsurfer iSCSI/FC RouterManager used to schedule multiple jobs having the same priority, I/O size, andgroup options.This option is particularly useful for migration jobs specified as Schedule for laterand Serial Schedule Jobs on the Data Migration Jobs Options dialog box (seeFigure 5-3 on page 5-13), where the jobs need to be classified under a specificgroup for better management.DMS allows a maximum of eight jobs to run simultaneously at any specific timeper source array. To optimize iSR6200 performance, QLogic recommends thatyou run simultaneously no more than four jobs on any specified source ordestination array.Consider a data center having multiple applications running on multiple storagearrays that need to be consolidated, and data migration needs to be done onassociated LUNs. The data migration administrator must plan the data migrationoperation to minimize the application downtime. In order to achieve this,SANsurfer iSCSI/FC Router Manager provides an option to create data migrationjob groups, as described in “Creating a Data Migration Job Group” on page 5-10.You can combine all the source LUNs associated with a specific application into asingle job group and schedule it for migration using the Schedule in batch modeoption. That way all the jobs can start at a predefined time, which can be off-peakhours when the administrator can afford a small application downtime.NOTE:If the source LUN is mapped to an initiator, Online datamigration is selected by default. Otherwise, the migration typedefaults to Offline.
