2PRO-1000HDI / PRO-800HDIBefore ProceedingHow to Use This ManualThis manual is set up to follow the course of actions andoperations in the order that would seem most logical forsomeone setting up this unit.Once the unit has been taken out of the box, and it hasbeen confirmed that all the parts have been received, itmay be beneficial to look over the section “Part Namesand Functions” starting on page 4 to become acquaintedwith the plasma monitor and remote control unit, as theirrespective buttons and controls will be referred tothroughout this manual.The section “Installation and Connections” starting onpage 8 covers all the necessary points regardinginstallation of the plasma display and connections to awide variety of components.The section “Setting Up the System” starting on page 18covers the necessary on-screen menu settings toestablish correct linkage between the plasma display andconnected components. Depending on the connectionsmade, this section may or not be necessary.The remainder of the sections in this manual is dedicatedto the basic operations associated with selecting a sourcecomponent up to the more complex operationsassociated with adjusting the plasma display picture tomatch the requirements of specific components andpersonal preferences.About operations in this manualOperations in this manual are outlined in step by stepnumbered procedures. Most of the procedures arewritten in reference to the remote control unit unless thebutton or control is only present on the main unit.However, if a button or control on the main unit has thesame or similar name as that on the remote control unit,that button can be used when performing operations.NoteThe screen displays depicted in this manual represent typicaldisplay examples.The actual items and contents seen in screen displays may varydepending on input source and specific settings.Screen DisplaysThe example screen displays provided in this manual arethose for the PRO-1000HDI model.
