Updating the TV Software52Updating the TV SoftwareFrom time to time, a new version of software may become available for download to enhance the performance or operationsof the TV.If there is an update available, a notification banner is displayed when the channel has the update information.• To download • If you choose not to downloadEXITYou can update any new software automatically or update manually.1 Display the menuMENU2 Select [Setup]Main MenuPictureSoundTimerSetupaccessselect3 Select [System Menu]System Menu Access accessselect4 Select [System Update]System MenuSystem Update Access accessselect■ To return to TVEXITUpdate TV’s software system [System Update]■ To update automaticallySelect [Auto Update Search in Standby]Auto Update Search in StandbySystem Update Search NowSystem UpdateOffaccess / storeselect • Every time you set, the TV automatically performs asearch in standby and downloads an update, if anysoftware updates are available.• The automatic updating is performed under thefollowing conditions :• Standby (TV turned Off with the remote control)• Recording of Timer Programming, Direct TVRecording or One Touch Recording is not inprogress.If System Update is performed, the software will be updated (itmay change TV functions).If you do not wish to do so, set [Auto Update Search in Standby]to [Off].■ To update immediately1 Select [System Update Search Now] 2 Searches for an update (forseveral minutes) and displays acorresponding message if any3 DownloadAuto Update Search in StandbySystem Update Search NowSystem UpdateOffAccess accessselectNote• Download may take for about 60 minutes.• During software download and update, DO NOT switch Off the TV.• The message might be the notification beforehand. In this case, the schedule information (the date that the new versioncan be used) will appear. You can set the reservation for update. The update will not start when the TV is set to Off.
