Error MessagesA message may appear while you are operating the DVD Video Camera. If a message appears, refer tothe following table and take appropriate corrective action.Messages are arranged in alphabetical order.(1) Data error in a part ofimage file. Repair datanow?(2) Found error in imagefile. Repair data now?(3) Data error in allimage file. Repair alldata now?(1) This disc must beformatted before it canbe used by this camera.(2) Do not format thisdisc if you want to recordfrom the PC connectionterminal.(3) Format the disc now?Battery is almost empty.Replace it.Cannot combinescenes.Cannot combine.Deselect PHOTOscenes.Cannot combinescenesof multiple programs.Cannot combine. Selectmultiple scenes.Cannot delete scenes.It is possible that the system cannot normally complete writing of filewhen, for example, power is turned off for some reason duringrecording or editing (deleting, dividing or combining scenes, orcreating play list). Selecting "YES" will automatically repair thevideo file, but even if "NO" is selected, the same message willappear when the DVD Video Camera is turned on next time. (Do notremove the disc while the DVD Video Camera is recognizing it:ignoring this will deactivate the file repair function.)Follow the instructions on screen, taking note of the followingcautions:• Data may not be repaired, depending on the timing when powerwas turned off.• Data may not be repaired normally if data recorded on anotherrecorder is mixed in.• The repaired data may be different from the original recordedcontent because of partial deletion of defective portion.• Since the date/time of repair is added to the repaired data (onlythe corrected portion for partial repair), the original date/timeinformation will be lost.• Since all movies, and then all stills, are repaired, the order ofrecorded contents will be lost.(In case of message (2) (3) only)• See "1 on page 156.DVD-R disc that was not initialized for camera use was inserted.47Replace with a charged battery pack, or use AC adaptor to powerthe DVD Video Camera. 42, 45Unless consecutive scenes are selected, they cannot be combined. 107Select only movies and combine them.1 O7Scenes cannot be combined, because the programs are different. 116Create a play list first, and then combine scenes.Select a range of at least 2 scenes to be combined, and then 107combine them.This may occur when scene that was edited for division, etc. is to bedeleted. 107Combine the divided scenes, and then delete them.Cannot execute.
