English16Before connecting● Before connecting cables, carefully read the operatinginstructions for the external device to be connected.● Turn off the power of all devices before connectingcables.● Take note of the following points before connectingthe cables. Failure to do so may result inmalfunctions.• When connecting a cable to the unit or a deviceconnected to the unit itself, touch any nearbymetallic objects to eliminate static electricity fromyour body before performing work.• Do not use unnecessarily long cables to connecta device to the unit or to the unit body. Thelonger the cable, the more susceptible to noise itbecomes. Since using a cable while it is woundmakes it act like an antenna, it is more susceptibleto noise.• When connecting cables, insert them straight intothe connecting terminal of the connecting deviceso that the ground is connected first.● Acquire any cable necessary to connect the externaldevice to the system that is neither supplied with thedevice nor available as an option.● If the outer shape of the plug of a connection cable islarge, it may come in contact with the periphery suchas a back cover or the plug of an adjacent connectioncable. Use a connection cable with the suitable plugsize for the terminal alignment.● When connecting the LAN cable with plug cover, beaware that the cover may come in contact with theback cover and it may be difficult to disconnect.● If video signals from video equipment contain toomuch jitter, the images on the screen may wobble.In this case, a time base corrector (TBC) must beconnected.● When the sync signals output from PC or videoequipment are disturbed, for example, when changingsettings of video output, the colour of the video maybe disturbed temporarily.● The unit accepts Composite video signals, YP BPR /YC BC R signals (PC IN), analogue RGB signals (PCIN) and digital signals.● Some PC models are not compatible with the unit.● Use cable compensator when you connect devices tothe unit using long cables. Otherwise the image maynot be displayed properly.
