Preparation9SettingsSelecting the Display and Voice Guidance LanguageAfter installing the battery in the handset, the handset display will prompt you to setthe display and voice guidance language to English or French.To change the display and voice guidance languageBattery ChargePlace the handset on the base unit and chargefor about 6 hours before initial use. Repeatcharging will require approximately the sameamount of charging time (6 hours) if the battery isdepleted completely.• The IN USE/CHARGE indicator lights and theunit beeps once.• It is normal for the back of the handset to feelwarm during battery charge.If you do not set a display and voice guidance language, the following functionswill not work properly:— the [MENU] button— storing or viewing the phone book items— viewing the caller list items1 Press English or Franç.2 Press Save or Sauv.• You can also select a language by pressing [ ] or[ ] before pressing Save or Sauv.1 Press [MENU].2 Scroll to “Initial setting” by pressing [ ]or [ ], then press Select.3 Scroll to “Change language” by pressing [ ]or [ ], then press Select.4 Select the language by pressing Franç. orEnglish.5 Press Sauv. or Save, then press [OFF].Select languageFranç.
