Bad extension card. • Exchange the card for a known workingone.Bad connection between thePBX and telephone.• Take the telephone and plug it into thesame extension port using a shorttelephone cord. If the telephone works,then the connection between the PBXand the telephone must be repaired.A telephone with an A-A1 relayis connected.• Use a 2-wire cord.• Set the A-A1 relay switch of thetelephone to the "OUT" or "OFF"position.Bad telephone. • Take the telephone and plug it intoanother extension port that is working.If the telephone does not work, replacethe telephone.The PBX does not operateproperly.• Press the Reset Button (refer to "4.1.4Using the Reset Button").• Turn off the power switch, and then turnit back on.• Turn off the power switch, and thenunplug the PBX. After 5 minutes, plugthe PBX back in and turn the powerswitch back on.Noise on external paging. Induced noise on the wirebetween the PBX and theamplifier.• Use a shielded cable as the connectionwire between the PBX and amplifier. Ashort shielded cable is recommended.Distorted external music. Excessive input level fromexternal music source.• Decrease the output level of theexternal music source by using thevolume control on the music source.Alternate Calling—Ring/Voiceand Live Call Screening (LCS)do not function as set when usinga Wireless Phone (KX-T7880/KX-T7885/KX-TD7894/KX-TD7895).Voice-calling mode and Hands-free mode with LCS are notavailable with Wireless Phones.• Switch the calling mode to ring-calling.• Set the LCS mode to "Private".The ALARM indicator on thefront of the cabinet turns on red.A major system error occurs inthe PBX.• See the error log using the KX-TAW848Maintenance Console (refer to "4.1.5Troubleshooting by Error Log").
