Press the battery pack release buttons onboth sides and pull the pack away from thetool.2. Carge the battery pack using the batterycharger.3. After the charging has been completed,remove the battery pack from the chargerand connect it to the tool. Disconnect thecharger from the power source when not inuse.Battery pack lifeThe rechargeable batteries have a limited life.If operation time becomes extremely shortafter recharging, replace the battery pack witha new one.NOTE: • Use under extremely hot or coldconditions will reduce operatingcapacity per charge.Battery RecyclingFor environmental protection and recycling ofmaterials, be sure that it is disposed of at anofficially assigned location, if there is one inyour country.Battery charger (EY0020/RE503)···(H)NOTE: When you charge the battery pack forthe first time, or after prolongedstorage, charge it for about 24 hours tobring the batteries up to full capacity.1. Press the battery pack release button andpull the pack away from the tool.(Refer figure 8)2. Plug the charger into the power source.3. Insert the battery pack firmly into thecharger.(Refer figure 9)4. During charging, the charging lamp will belight up.When the charge is completed, an internalelectronic switch will automatically betriggered to prevent overcharging.• If the charging lamp does not light, checkto determine whether the contacts areclean and the battery pack is insertedcompletely.5. When charging is completed, the charginglamp will go out.6. Avoid charging at temperatures below 0°Cabove 40°C.7. After charging has been completed,remove the battery pack from the chargerand reinsert it into the tool.(Refer figure 10)8. If the charging lamp does not turn onimmediately afater the chager has beenplugged in, or if after 2 hours of chargingthe lamp does not go off, consult anauthorized dealer for checking.NOTE: The battery pack EY9021 can becharged by 15 min. charger EY0202using adapter EY0890.CAUTION: • Do not use power source froman engine generator.• Do not cover vent holes on thecharger.• Unplug the charger when not inuse.
