Safety precautionsFollow these instructions.To prevent accidents, injuries or damage toproperty, please follow the instructions below.■ The following chart indicates thedegree of damage caused byimproper operation.WARNINGIndicates potentialhazard that couldresult in seriousinjury or death.CAUTIONIndicates potentialhazard that couldresult in minor injuryor property damage.WARNING► Preventing accidents• Do not place within reach ofchildren or infants. Do not let themuse it.- Putting parts or accessories in themouth may cause an accident or injury.CAUTION► Preventing damage to teeth and gums• Do not use the appliance withtoothpaste that contains a highabrasive content, such as toothpastefor removing tar or for whitening.• Do not apply the brush firmlyagainst teeth or gums, or use itcontinuously against the same spot.• Do not apply the plastic part of themain body or head to teeth.• Do not let anyone who cannotoperate the appliance bythemselves use it.• People with low sensitivity in theirmouth should not use the appliance.- Doing so may cause injury ordamage to teeth and gums.• People who may have periodontaldisease, or concerned aboutsymptoms within their mouthshould consult a dentist before use.- Failure to do so may cause injury ordamage to teeth and gums.• Do not use the appliance for anypurpose other than cleaning yourteeth.- Doing so may cause an accident orinjury.► Note the following precautions• Do not share with your family orother people.- Doing so may result in infection orinflammation.Important information• When you first begin using theappliance, you may experience slightbleeding of the gums even though yourgums may be healthy. This is becauseyour gums are receiving stimulation bythe appliance for the first time. Thebleeding should stop after one or twoweeks of use.- Bleeding that persists for more thantwo weeks may be indication of anabnormal condition of your gums,such as periodontal disease. In thiscase, stop using the appliance andconsult your dentist.Parts identification(Fig. 1)A HeadB Multi-fit brush1 Protective capC Extra-fine brush1 Protective capHow to use1 Mount the head to the main bodyuntil it clicks.2 Mount the brush to the head.▪ Apply a small amount of toothpaste.3 Place the brush in your mouth.▪ To avoid splashing of toothpaste, putthe head in your mouth before turningthe power on.4 Turn on the power.▪ When first using this appliance, somepeople may experience a tickling ortingling sensation caused by thesonic vibrations. The sensationshould subside after you use thebrush several more times.5 Turn off the main body when youhave finished brushing.▪ Turn off the main body beforeremoving it from your mouth toprevent saliva from splashing.Note• The use time after a full charge is asfollows.ER-CBL1: 110 minutesER-CBN1: 70 minutes(Use time may vary depending onambient temperature and use conditions.)Quick charge (ER‑CBL1 only)Even though the battery runs out, you canuse for 5 minutes after 3-minute charge.(This will differ depending on usage.)Removing and mountingthe head (Fig. 2)• Make sure that the main body is turned off.Remove the head while pushing thehead release button (a).▪ Stand the head when it is removed.Mount the head to the main body untilit clicks.Removing andmounting the brushRotate the head and align the marksand pull to remove the brush. (Fig. 3‑1)▪ Pulling the brush while it is fastenedmay damage the head or the main body.▪ When toothpaste gets hard and makesit difficult to remove the head, put it inwater or warm water for a while andthen remove.Align the mark on the brush with themark on the head and rotate it in thedirection of the arrow to mount thebrush. (Fig. 3‑2)▪ Inserting the brush without aligning themark on the brush with the mark on thehead may damage the brush or brushshaft (b).Note• The brush should be replaced with anew one every 3 months or so due tohygiene reasons, even if its shape isunchanged.Never use the toothbrush head withdamaged bristles. Replace beforeusing.BrushingBrush your teeth by moving the mainbody by hand.• Choose the brush head depending onuse and area.Multi-fit brushWhen you want to make your teethfront surface and biting surface clean.• You cannot brush the periodontal pocket.Extra-fine brushWhen you want to brush mainly theperiodontal pockets or between theteeth and gums.• You can also brush the teeth frontsurface and the biting surface.► Example brushing sequence (Fig. 4)Divide your teeth into 4 parts (upper andlower, left and right), and brush one partin order such as “1 front of the teeth”,“2 biting plane of the teeth”, and “3back of the teeth” spending 30 seconds.Repeat this same procedure for the other3 areas.By brushing the above 4 parts for 30seconds each (about 2 minutes), you canevenly brush your teeth without missingany spots in your mouth.► Front surface and the biting surfaceof teeth (Fig. 5‑1)• Apply the brush head at a 90° angle.► Periodontal pocket and theboundary between the teeth andgums (Fig. 5‑2)• Use the extra-fine brush.• Place the brush head at a 45° angle.Operating Instructions(Household use) Toothbrush HeadModel No. ER-CTB1 90°45° 123 45 6ER-CTB1_US_PR.indd 1 2022/02/21 15:08:46 |
