Continuous viewing ofstationary images such as letterbox pictures onstandard screen TVs (with toplbottom bars), non-expanded standard (4:3) pictures on wide screen TVs(with side bars shown on each side of an image), stockmarket report bars (ticker running at the bottom of thescreen), video game patterns, fixed scoreboards,bright station Iogos, on-line (Internet) or repetitivecomputer style patterns should be limited.The extended use of fixed image program material cancause a permanent picture tube damage, shown as a"shadow image" viewable on normal programs. Thistype of irreversible picture tube deterioration can belimited by performing the following steps:Do not display the fixed image for extended periodsof time.Turn the power off when not in use.30
