The unit ismounted in the ceiling and a smoke (or heat)detector can be plugged in the base. Thebase is connected directly to the COM looplike the base 3312.Programmable outputThe sounder is programmed (via Win128 /Win512 / WinG3) like a programmableoutput in the EBL system respectively. Thesounder is mostly used as a fire alarm devicebut any of the trigger conditions can be usedin the control expression.Priority levelsThree priority levels are available in systemsEBL512 and EBL512 G3 (High, Medium &Low) and two priority levels in systemEBL128 (High & Low). For each prioritylevel an output control expression and asound type have to be programmed.Sound typesThree Sound types are available: Steady (continuous) 3650 Hz Intermittent 3650 Hz,0.5s on / 0.5s off (1 Hz) Intermittent 3650 Hz,0.167s on / 0.167s off (3 Hz)The sounder can, for example, be used forpre-warning, fire alarm and general firealarm with a different Sound type for eachtype of alarm.Address & Mode settingThe COM loop address for the Addressablesounder base 3379 is set with the Addresssetting tool 3314. The sounder base has tohave one address and the detector plugged inthe base has to have another address.3314 is also used to set the mode: NORMAL mode: Shall be used for3379 in all systems. 2330 mode: Cannot be used. 2312 mode: Cannot be used.Miscellaneous3379 is power supplied via the COM loop,i.e. the number of sounder bases isdepending on the other units connected tothe same COM loop as well as the cabletype/length. See Planning Instructions forthe EBL system respectively.3379 has replaced the Addressable sounderbase 3378.Product applicationsUsed in the systems EBL128, EBL512 (SWversion > 2.2) and EBL512 G3 when asounder is required in the same room as adetector (e.g. in a hotel room). The sounderbase is intended for indoor use and in drypremises.
