Screw the connector backshell to the connector body, andtighten.5. Install the strain- relief clamp with two screws.6. Connect each end of the cable into the 6-pin ports at theback of the 957, or connect one end of the cable into the10-pin port at the back of the 941, 951, or 952.7. Turn both units on, and test for the proper cable connec-tion: a) Press the WAYPTS/ROUTES key; b) Press theIMPORT/EXPORT menu key; c) Press the IMPORT DATAor EXPORT DATA menu key; d) Press the TEST COMMmenu key.8. The message should read REMOTE LINK OK. If so, thehardware connection is now complete and the two unitscan now transfer all waypoints and routes between them.Setting theanchor-watchalarm honkThe anchor-watch alarm function is used to set the 957 tohonk, in addition to beep, once you’ve connected a honker topin #14 on the 957’s NMEA connector.
