16NAC 112x17.6 Channel BalanceChannel balance adjustment is operated electronically within thepreamplifier and is controlled by the remote handset bal keysonly. Balance will automatically centre as it reaches the midpoint. Centring is indicated by a flashing volume control indicator.To resume adjustment once the balance has centred, a handsetbal key must be released and re-pressed.17.7 MuteThe mute button silences and restores the output signal.17.8 Record MonitorThe mon button operates the record monitor circuit enabling therecorded output of a suitably equipped recording device to beheard.17.9 Record MuteIn order to minimise power consumption and improve soundquality the NAC 112x record output circuits may be switched off.To engage or disengage the record mute first operate therecord monitor function (mon) as described in Paragraph 17.8above then press the front panel mute button. The mute buttonindicator will be illuminated when record mute is engaged andextinguished when record mute is disengaged.Record mute can be engaged and disengaged from the remotehandset by operating the record monitor function followed by themute function.17.10 DisplayThe NAC 112x front panel button display can be switched offby pressing the remote handset (in preamplifier mode) dispfunction. Any subsequent handset or front panel operation willtemporarily restore the display. A second operation of the dispfunction will permanently restore the display.17.11 Switch-onAfter switch-on, via the power supply or power amplifier powerbutton, the NAC 112x will remain muted for 15 seconds whilecontrol systems and circuits stabilise.17.12 Remote controlThe NARCOM 3 remote handset supplied with the NAC 112xduplicates all configuration options. See Section 24 for moreinformation. The Flash and iCom handsets will also control theNAC 112x. See Sections 23 and 25 for more information.17.13 DefaultsTo restore all programmable settings to the factory defaults pressand hold the remote handset disp key while the preamplifier isin program mode.
