8ENGLISHImportant safety instructions for battery1. Before using battery, read all instructions andcautionary markings on (1) battery charger, (2)battery, and (3) portable power pack.2. Do not disassemble or tamper with the battery. Itmay result in a fire, excessive heat, or explosion.3. If operating time has become excessively shorter,stop operating immediately. It may result in a risk ofoverheating, possible burns and even an explosion.4. Under severe conditions such as high temperature,the battery may leak liquid. Do not carelessly touchthe leaked liquid. It may cause irritation or burns. Inthe unlikely event that battery fluid gets into your eyesor on your skin, immediately rinse with clean watersuch as tap water, and then seek medical attention.5. Do not short the battery:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any conductivematerial.(2) Avoid storing battery in a container with othermetal objects such as nails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery to water or rain.A battery short can cause a large currentflow, overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not enter the battery in a conductive material suchas water, and do not put a conductive material suchas water inside the battery. Doing so may cause ashort circuit, which may result in overheating, fire,rupture, or explosion.7. Do not charge, store and use the vibrator and theportable power pack and the battery in locationswhere the temperature may reach or exceed 50 °C(122 °F).8. Do not incinerate the battery even if it is severelydamaged or is completely worn out. The battery canexplode in a fire.9. Do not nail, cut, crush, throw, drop the battery, or hitagainst a hard object to the battery. Such conductmay result in a fire, excessive heat, or explosion.10. Do not use a battery that has been dropped ordamaged in any way.11. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subject tothe Dangerous Goods Legislation requirements.For commercial transports e.g. by third parties,forwarding agents, special requirement on packagingand labeling must be observed. For preparation ofthe item being shipped, consulting an expert forhazardous material is required. Please also observepossibly more detailed national regulations. Tapeor mask off open contacts and pack up the batteryin such a manner that it cannot move around in thepackaging.12. When disposing the battery, remove it from theportable power pack and dispose of it in a safe place.Follow your local regulations relating to disposal ofbattery.13. Use the battery only with the products specifiedby Makita. Installing the battery to non-com- pliantproducts may result in a fire, excessive heat,explosion, or leak of electrolyte.14. If the vibrator is not used for a long period of time,the battery must be removed from the portable powerpack.15. Keep the battery away from children.16. During and after use, the battery may take on heatwhich can cause burns or low temperature burns.Pay attention to the handling of hot batteries.17. Do not touch the terminal of the battery immediatelyafter use as it may get hot enough to cause burns.18. Do not allow chips, dust, or soil stuck into theterminals, holes, and grooves of the battery. It mayresult in poor performance or breakdown of thevibrator or battery.19. Do not contact the terminals of the charging batterywith metal or other objects.20. Do not use the battery near high-voltage electricalpower lines. It may result in a malfunction orbreakdown of the vibrator or battery.21. When the battery temperature is high (40 °C (104 °F)or higher), such as after working under the blazingsun, charging may become temporarily Unable.However, this is due to the battery protective functionand does not indicate a malfunction. Allow the batteryto cool down for a while before recharging.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.CAUTION: Only use genuine Makitabatteries.Use of non-genuine Makita batteries, or batteries thathave been altered, may result in the battery burstingcausing fires, personal injury and damage. It will alsovoid the Makita warranty for the Makita products.Tips for maintaining maximum battery life1. Charge the battery before completely discharged.Always stop tool operation and charge the batterywhen you notice less tool power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery. Overchargingshortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery with room temperature at 10 °C- 40 °C (50 °F - 104 °F). Let a hot battery cool downbefore charging it.4. When not using the battery, remove it from theportable power pack or the charger.5. Charge the battery if you do not use it for a longperiod (more than six months). |
