If the tool is not used for a long period of time, thebattery must be removed from the tool.15. Do not allow chips, dust, or soil stuck into theterminals, holes, and grooves of the battery cartridge.It may result in poor performance or breakdown of thetool or battery cartridge.16. Keep the battery away from children.17. During and after use, the battery cartridge may takeon heat which can cause burns or low temperatureburns.18. Do not touch the terminal of the tool immediately afteruse as it may get hot enough to cause burns.19. Unless the tool supports the use near a high-voltageelectrical power lines, do not use the battery cartridgenear a high-voltage electrical power lines. It mayresult in a malfunction or breakdown of the tool orbattery cartridge.20. Protect the battery from following conditions:- replacement of a battery with an incorrect type thatcan defeat a safeguard (for example, in the case ofsome lithium battery types);- disposal of a battery into fire or a hot oven, ormechanically crushing or cutting of a battery, thatcan result in an explosion;- leaving a battery in an extremely high temperaturesurrounding environment that can result in anexplosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas;and- a battery subjected to extremely low air pressurethat may result in an explosion or the leakage offlammable liquid or gas.CAUTION:● Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectlyreplaced.● Only use genuine Makita batteries. It willalso void the Makita warranty for the Makita tooland charger.Tips for maintaining maximum battery life1. Charge the battery cartridge before completelydischarged. Always stop operation and charge thebattery cartridge when you notice less power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery cartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with room temperature at10°C - 40°C (50°F - 104°F). Let a hot battery cartridgecool down before charging it.4. When not using the battery cartridge, remove it fromthe tool or the charger.5. Charge the battery cartridge if you do not use it for along period (more than six months).
