14NOTE:• If the inner flange is removed be sure to install it onthe spindle with its protrusion facing away from theblade. If the flange is installed incorrectly theflange will rub against the machine.WARNING:• Before mounting the blade onto the spindle, always be sure that the correct ring for theblade's arbor hole you intend to use is installedbetween the inner and the outer flanges. Use ofthe incorrect arbor hole ring may result in theimproper mounting of the blade causing blademovement and severe vibration resulting inpossible loss of control during operation and inserious personal injury.Fig.25To install the blade, mount it carefully onto the spindle, making sure that the direction of the arrow on the surfaceof the blade matches the direction of the arrow on theblade case.Install the outer flange and hex bolt, and then use thesocket wrench to tighten the hex bolt (left-handed)securely counterclockwise while pressing the shaft lock. For all countries other than European countriesFig.26WARNING:• The black ring 25 mm in outer diameter and thesilver ring 25.4 mm in outer diameter arefactory-installed as shown in the figure. Whenusing a blade with 25 mm hole diameter, replacethe silver ring with the black ring. Beforemounting the blade onto the spindle, alwaysbe sure that the correct ring for the blade'sarbor hole you intend to use is installedbetween the inner and the outer flanges. Use ofthe incorrect arbor hole ring may result in theimproper mounting of the blade causing blademovement and severe vibration resulting inpossible loss of control during operation and inserious personal injury. For European countriesCAUTION:• The ring 30 mm in outer diameter is factory-installedbetween the inner and outer flanges.Install the outer flange and hex bolt, and then use thesocket wrench to tighten the hex bolt securelycounterclockwise while pressing the shaft lock.Fig.27Return the blade guard and center cover to its originalposition. Then tighten the hex bolt clockwise to secure thecenter cover. Release the handle from the raised positionby pulling the stopper pin. Lower the handle to make surethat the blade guard moves properly. Make sure the shaftlock has released spindle before making cut.Dust bag (accessory)Fig.28The use of the dust bag makes cutting operationscleaner and dust collection easier. To attach the dust bag,fit it onto the dust nozzle. When the dust bag is about half full, remove the dust bagfrom the tool and pull the fastener out. Empty the dustbag of its contents, tapping it lightly so as to removeparticles adhering to the insides which might hamperfurther collection.NOTE:If you connect a vacuum cleaner to your saw, cleaneroperations can be performed.Securing workpieceWARNING:• It is extremely important to always secure theworkpiece correctly with the proper type ofvise or crown molding stoppers. Failure to do somay result in serious personal injury and causedamage to the tool and/or the workpiece.• After a cutting operation do not raise the bladeuntil it has come to a complete stop. The raisingof a coasting blade may result in serious personalinjury and damage to the workpiece.• When cutting a workpiece that is longer thanthe support base of the saw, the materialshould be supported the entire length beyondthe support base and at the same height tokeep the material level. Proper workpiecesupport will help avoid blade pinch and possiblekickback which may result in serious personalinjury. Do not rely solely on the vertical vise and/orhorizontal vise to secure the workpiece. Thinmaterial tends to sag. Support workpiece over itsentire length to avoid blade pinch and possibleKICKBACK.Fig.29Guide fence (SLIDING FENCES which areupper and lower fences) adjustmentFig.30WARNING:• Before operating the tool, make sure that the slidingfence is secured firmly.• Before bevel-cutting, make sure that no part ofthe tool, especially the blade, contacts theupper and lower fences when fully loweringand raising the handle in any position andwhile moving the carriage through its full rangeof travel. If the tool or blade makes contact with thefence this may result in kickback or unexpectedmovement of the material and serious personalinjury. |
