7or maintenance.LubricationCAUTION:• This servicing should be performed by MakitaAuthorized or Factory Service Centers only.This tool requires no hourly or daily lubrication becauseit has a grease-packed lubrication system. However, it isrecommended to periodically replace the grease forlonger tool life.First, switch off and unplug the tool.For model HM1307C,HM1307CB onlyFig.8Remove the six screws using a hex wrench and removethe rear cover.Fig.9Pull out the crank cap in the direction of arrow andremove it.Fig.10Then replenish with fresh grease (60g). Use only Makitagenuine hammer grease (optional accessory). Fillingwith more than the specified amount of grease (approx.60 g; 2 oz) can cause faulty hammering action or toolfailure. Fill only with the specified amount of grease.To reassemble the tool, follow the disassemblingprocedure in reverse.For model HM1317C,HM1317CB onlyFig.11Remove the six screws using a hex wrench and removethe rear cover.Fig.12Pull out the crank cap cover in the direction of arrow andremove it.Fig.13Then replenish with fresh grease (60g).
