29 ENGLISHDumping objectsCAUTION: Before lifting the carrier or bucket,be sure to lock the brake lever.CAUTION: Lift the carrier or bucket on flatand stable ground. Operation on unstable groundmay cause an accident or injury.CAUTION: Keep the load to a minimum. Ifthe load is large, do not try to lift the carrier orbucket. Reduce the load, and then lift the carrieror bucket.CAUTION: When lifting or returning the car-rier or bucket, never insert or place a part of yourbody between the dump unit and the carrier orbucket.CAUTION: If the load is fixed by ropes orother means, untie the load before lifting thedump unit.CAUTION: Before lifting the carrier or bucket,make sure that there are no people or obstaclesaround the machine.You can dump the objects by lifting and tilting the carrieror bucket.1. Stop the machine, and then lock the brake lever.NOTICE: It is recommended to chock the frontwheels to stabilize the machine.2. Rotate the lock lever of dump unit toward the frontof machine to unlock the dump unit.► Fig.58: 1. Lock lever3. Stand at the side of the machine, then hold thehandle of the machine with one hand, and then hold thehandle of the dump unit with the other hand.► Fig.59CAUTION: Hold the handles of the machineand dump unit firmly, and work in a stableposture.4. Tilt the carrier or bucket by lifting up the handle ofthe dump unit.5. Return the carrier or bucket, and then lock thedump unit by pulling down the handle of the dump unit.CAUTION: After dumping loads, be sure tolock the dump unit by returning the dump unit toits original position.Draining liquidCAUTION: Before draining the liquid, be sureto lock the brake lever.To drain the liquid inside of the flat bucket, loosen and removethe cap of the flat bucket. Tighten the cap after the draining.► Fig.60: 1. CapNOTE: When removing the cap, be careful as thecap may be pushed out by the pressure of liquid. Becareful not to get the liquid on your face or other partsof your body.MAINTENANCECAUTION: Always be sure to park themachine on flat ground and lock the brake leverbefore storage or attempting to perform inspec-tions or maintenance.CAUTION: Always be sure that the lockkey and battery cartridge are removed fromthe machine before storage, inspections, ormaintenance.CAUTION: Always remove the lock key whenthe machine is not in use. Store the lock key in asafe place out of reach of children.Inspection before operationPerform the following inspections before operation themachine.• Check that the bolts, nuts, and knobs are tight-ened firmly.► Fig.61• Check that the brake is working properly. If youfeel the brake is not working sufficiently, performthe cleaning of the brake. If no improvement canbe found, ask Makita Authorized Service Centersfor repair.• Check that the dump unit is locked when the han-dle of the dump unit is fully pulled down.► Fig.62: 1. Handle• Check that the tires of front and rear wheels arenot damaged, and the air in the tires is sufficient.• Check that the front lamps, rear lamp, and reflec-tor are clean. Clean them if necessary.• Check that the scrapers are in the correct posi-tion. If the scraper is facing upward, adjust theorientation of the scraper by loosing the bolts.When tightening the bolts, do not push the scrapertoward the front of the machine.► Fig.63: 1. ScraperCleaning the machineNOTICE: Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner,alcohol or the like. Discoloration, deformation orcracks may result.NOTICE: Do not use the high pressure washerfor cleaning.NOTICE: When cleaning the machine, be sureto close the cover of battery box. Otherwise, watermay enter into the battery box, and cause a malfunc-tion of machine.Remove mud, dirt, and the like from the machine. Cleanthe machine with running water. After the cleaning, wipethe machine with a dry cloth.StorageLock the brake lever, and remove the battery cartridgesand lock key. Store the machine in a safe place out ofthe reach of children. |
