23121615141317Replacing the saw chainCAUTION: Use only chains and guide bars designed forthis saw (see the Extract from the spare-parts list)!Check the sprocket before mounting a new chain.Worn out sprockets (12) may damage the new chain and musttherefore be replaced.Remove the sprocket guard (1) (See ÑPUTTING INTO OPERA-TIONì figs. B).Remove the chain and guide bar.Remove circlip (13).CAREFUL: The circlip will jump out of the groove unless youhold it down with your thumb while removing it.Remove thrust washers (14 and 15).Replace the old sprocket (12) with a new one (16). For the partnumber consult the ìExtract from the spare parts listî.Assemble the new sprocket, thrust washers and circlip.For replacing the guide bar, chain, and sprocket see ÑPUTTINGINTO OPERATION A-Hì.NOTE:New chains stretch, so check the chain tension frequently (seeìChecking the chain tensionî).DCReplacing the suction headThe felt filter (17) of the suction head can become clogged.It is recommended to replace the suction head once everythree months in order to ensure unimpeded fuel flow to thecarburetor.To remove the suction head for replacement, pull it out throughthe tank filler neck using a piece of wire bent at one end toform a hook.ECleaning the guide barCAUTION: Protective gloves must be worn.Regularly inspect the bearing surfaces of the guide bar fordamage, and clean them with a suitable tool.
