Do not use fuel to clean the air filter.If the filter is very dirty, clean it in lukewarm water withdishwashing detergent.Let the air filter dry completely.If the filter is very dirty, clean it frequently (several times a day),because only a clean air filter provides full engine power.CAUTION:Replace damaged air filters immediately.Pieces of cloth or large dirt particles can destroy theengine!Replacing the saw chainCAUTION:Use only chains and guide bars designed for this saw (seethe Extract from the spare-parts list)!Check the sprocket (7) before mounting a new chain.Remove the sprocket guard (See "PUTTING INTO OPERA-TION" figs. A and H).CAUTION:Worn out sprockets (8) may damage the new chain and musttherefore be replaced.Do not attempt to replace the sprocket yourself. Sprocketreplacement requires special training and tools and must bedone at a MAKITA service center.ESTOPReplacing the suction headThe felt filter (9) of the suction head can become clogged. Itis recommended to replace the suction head once every threemonths in order to ensure unimpeded fuel flow to the carbure-tor.To remove the suction head for replacement, pull it out throughthe tank filler neck using a piece of wire bent at oneend to form a hook.SERVICE
