Place the bit in the chuck as far asit will go. Hold the ring firmly and turn the sleeveclockwise to tighten the chuck. To remove the bit, holdthe ring and turn the sleeve counterclockwise.Set the action mode changing knob to the symbol.You can drill up to 13 mm diameter in metal and up to 32mm diameter in wood.CAUTION:• Never use "rotation with hammering" when the drillchuck assembly is installed on the tool. The drillchuck assembly may be damaged. Also, the drillchuck will come off when reversing the tool.• Pressing excessively on the tool will not speed upthe drilling. In fact, this excessive pressure will onlyserve to damage the tip of your bit, decrease thetool performance and shorten the service life of thetool.• There is a tremendous twisting force exerted onthe tool/bit at the time of hole breakthrough. Holdthe tool firmly and exert care when the bit begins tobreak through the workpiece.• A stuck bit can be removed simply by setting thereversing switch to reverse rotation in order to backout. However, the tool may back out abruptly if youdo not hold it firmly.• Always secure small workpieces in a vise or similarhold-down device.MAINTENANCECAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before attempting toperform inspection or maintenance.Replacing carbon brushesFig.26Remove and check the carbon brushes regularly.Replace when they wear down to the limit mark. Keepthe carbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders.Both carbon brushes should be replaced at the sametime.
