This open architecture enables mission critical communications customers to have one integratedsolution to meet numerous voice and data needs.4.1.2 The VIDA Broadband NetworkVIDA Broadband is the broadband extension of VIDA and as a complete broadband distribution system,can serve as the airlink to the user, as well as a wireless extension of the core IP network upon which theVIDA network is based (Figure 4-3).VIDA Broadband integrates the sophisticated QoS technology providing a solid security of the 802.16-2004 (WiMAX) protocol with the licensed protection of the 4.9 GHz public safety band to provide publicsafety grade wireless broadband data services for mission critical applications.
