POST error codesEach time you turn on the system, it performs a series of tests that check the operation of the system andsome options. This series of tests are called the Power-On Self-Test, or POST. POST checks the followingoperations:• Some basic system-board operations• Memory operation• Video operation• Whether the boot drive is workingIf the POST detects a problem, an error message appears on the screen. A single problem might causeseveral error messages to appear. When you correct the cause of the first error message, the other errormessages probably will not appear on the screen the next time.Error code POST error message Description/Action0135 CPU fan failureSystem fan failurePower fan failureFront fan failureRear fan failureAuxiliary fan failureODD fan failureThis error message is displayedwhen a fan fails and the systemmight be overheating.Press F10 to exit.0211 Keyboard not found This error message is displayedwhen no keyboard is detected.0162 Setup data integrity check failure This error indicates the checksumof BIOS Setup data in NVRAM isbad.In BIOS Setup, the “SaveChanges and Exit” operation isneeded in order to clear this error.0164 Memory configuration change hasoccurred This error message is displayedwhen the memory size ischanged.Press F10 to exit.1762 Storage device configuration changehas occurred This error message is displayedwhen a hard disk drive change oran optical drive change has beenmade.Press F10 to exit.34 M90q Hardware Maintenance Manual |
