This series of tests iscalled the Power-On Self-Test, or POST. POST does the following operations.• Checks some basic system-board operations• Checks the memory operation• Starts the video operation• Verifies that the boot drive is workingIf the POST detects a problem, an error message appears on the screen.A single problem can cause several error messages to appear. When youcorrect the cause of the first error message, the other error messagesprobably will not appear on the screen the next time you turn on thesystem.POST Error Message Description/ActionCMOS Date/Time Not Set The CMOS Date and/or Time areinvalid. This error can be resolvedby readjusting the system time inPhenix BIOS Setup.CMOS Battery Low The CMOS battery is no longerfunctional.Replace the battery.CMOS Checksum Bad Checksum of CMOS is incorrect.The computer loads the defaultconfiguration settings. This errormight indicate that CMOS hasbecome corrupt due to a weakCMOS battery.SATA Device Configuration ChangeHas OccurredHard disk or optical disk has beenchanged.Mouse not found No mouse is detected. You can pluga mouse.Keyboard not found No keyboard is detected. You canplug a keyboard.System Halted The system has been halted. A resetor power cycle is required to rebootthe machine. This message appearsafter a fatal error has been detected.Press TAB to show POST screen Pressing the TAB key permits theuser to toggle between the defaultPOST display screen and a customPOST display screen.
