You will need to fit the coax cable with anF type connector to connect to the aerial balun.1. Preparing the coax cable downlead: First slide therubber weather boot provided over the aerial end ofthe cable. Strip the end of the cable as shown inFig. 1. Once you have stripped the cable, fold thebraid back over the outer sheath making sure that nobraid is touching the copper core, as this will cause ashort on the cable and you will not get any signal.Also cut or tear away any foil shielding.2. Twist the ‘F’ connector supplied on to the preparedaerial end of the cable and trim the central conductorsee Fig. 2. Once you have installed your aerial andrun and secured the cable prepare the other end forconnection to an outlet or coax plug (not supplied).For best results the aerial should be mounted on anoutdoor aerial mast and pointed in the direction ofthe nearest transmitter* making sure it is in a positionwhere the transmitter signal will not be obstructedby nearby trees and buildings. If you are in any doubtabout the direction in which the aerial should bepointing or the orientation of the aerial (horizontal formain transmitter, vertical for relay transmitter) checkyour neighbours’ aerials.1. Unfold the booms as shown opposte.
