In this example, we areworking with the Primary control on Boiler 1,so the name here should be “Boiler 1 Primary.”To change the entry, press on the line for BoilerName. The system will present the keyboardscreen. Use the “BS” (BackSpace) key to erasethe existing name. Enter the new name, thenpress OK.6. Now you can rename the other control onBoiler 1 – the Secondary control. Press theHome button in the top left-hand corner togo back to the Home screen which shows thedifferent controls (Fig. 53).7. This time, press the icon for the Secondarycontrol. Repeat steps 1 through 5. Change thename to “Boiler 1 Secondary.”8. Go to the Operator Interface for the next boilerin the system. Repeat steps 1 through 7 foreach of the controllers on that boiler. Be surethe names you enter are correct – each nameshould indicate the Boiler number and whetherthe control will operate as the Primary orSecondary.9. Repeat the process for any other boilers in thesystem.Job C – make one Control the lead/lagmaster(This is an individual function – do this once for the control thatwill act as the Lead/Lag Master. Use the Operator Interface onBoiler 1.)The Lead/Lag control system uses one controller asthe Lead/Lag Master. This controller supervises theoperation of the other controllers, and they all operatetogether as part of the Lead/Lag system. There isonly one Lead/Lag Master in the system. Usually,the controller used for this is the Primary controlleron Boiler 1. (Other controls in the system can be setas the Lead/Lag Master, but we do not recommendthis because it may complicate troubleshooting andtechnical support questions.)The controller used as the Lead/Lag Master will alsodo a second job, operating as Slave 1 in the Lead/Lag system. A single controller performs both ofthese functions. When it arrives from the factory, thecontroller used for this should already be set up as aslave – we will check that in a moment.
