Audio Utilities10.1 DMS Metering & LoopbacksAll systems provide DMS elements which can be assigned to a VisTool display for metering or to create audioloopbacks to feed signals back into other parts of the system.Mono DMS may be linked to operate in stereo or surround. Each DMS channel is equipped with silence detectlogic.sapphire compact and Nova29 support 64 DMS; sapphire MK2 and POWER CORE supports 256 DMSpresented in 4 groups of 64.Additionally Nova29 supports 256 internal loopbacks without silence detect and Vistool metering, presented in 4groups of 64.crystal systems also support DMS and Loopbacks, but these operate slightly differently and are accessedfrom the “System -> Definition -> Parameter = DMS” branch of the ‘Tree Definition’.To access the parameters:1. Select a DMS entry from either the "Audio Input" or "Audio Out Only" branches of the 'Tree Definition'.2. Then select the menu tabs to configure the DMS Input and Loopback/Silence parameters.The same parameters can be accessed by double-clicking on DMS in "Frames -> System Core". DMSparameters can also be edited in list form from the "Command -> Inputs" window.10.1.1 DMS Input ParametersMeter n Reference name for the meter.Type On the 1st input of eight, you can select the following options from the drop down menu:· Mono.· Stereo – normal stereo L/R operation.· 5.1 – this option links 1-6 of the set for L, R, C, LFE, Ls, Rs surround.· 5.1+2 - this option links 1-8 of the set for 5.1 surround, as above, plus separate stereoinput.On other odd numbered DMS, you have the option to check the Stereo box to link theodd/even pair for stereo operation.Matrix Enable This option enables matrix control of the DMS, with options for ON, LS and OFF. See MatrixEnable.Label Enter a label for the DMS.Audio Assigns the default audio signal.Note that the audio feeding a DMS may also be configured in reverse - for example, theDMS may be assigned as the audio input to another configuration element. In this case,the default audio is overridden.Color Define the color for each DMS channel. The color is used for PPM bars in VisTool.
