8Preparing the Food Processor for UseBefore First UseBefore using your Food Processor forthe first time, wash the work bowl,work bowl cover, mini bowl, feedtube pusher, discs, and blades eitherby hand or in the dishwasher (see“Cleaning the Food Processor” onpage 12).Work Bowl Assembly1. Place the Food Processor base on adry, level countertop with thecontrols facing forward. Do notplug in the unit until it iscompletely assembled.2. With the handle just to the left ofcenter, place the work bowl on thebase, fitting the center openingover the power shaft.3. Grasp the work bowl handle andturn the bowl to the right until itlocks into position.4. Insert the desired accessory intothe work bowl. See pages 9–10for accessory instructions.5. Place the work bowl cover on thework bowl with the feed tube justto the left of the work bowlhandle. Grasp the feed tube andturn the cover to the right until itlocks into place.NOTE: Do not attach the cover to thework bowl before the work bowl islocked on the base. Damage to thework bowl may result.6. Fit the 2-piece food pusher intothe feed tube.7. Plug into a proper electrical outlet.NOTE: Your Food Processor will notoperate unless the work bowl andwork bowl cover are properly lockedon the base.Do not remove the work bowl fromthe base without first removing thework bowl cover.
