For single-port operations, the FLG linescan be used in the factory default setting (no flag lines combined) to handshakewith a peripheral. For multi-port operations with a single handshake line, youcan combine the flag line from multiple ports. The combined flag lines arephysically tied together. An action on any of the combined flag lines performsthat action for all combined flag lines.Figure 2-4 shows the locations of the flag combining switches and how to setthem. Before setting any flag combine switches, you may wish to read thediscussion regarding allowable port combinations and handshaking in Chapter 3of this manual.When using the FLG and CTL for handshaking on multiple-portoperations, the CTL line is set for each port sequentially beginningat the lowest- numbered port.
