28 Keysight E5063A Network AnalyzerTroubleshootingSystem Recovery2-System RecoveryBy executing system recovery, you can return the E5063A’s system (theWindows operating system and the firmware) to the factory state (at the timeof purchase *).Notes on executing the factory recovery functionExecuting the factory recovery function cause firmwares the followingconditions:• In addition to the Windows operating system and the , the followingsettings of the E5063A are returned to the factory state.a. Network settingb. GPIB settingc. Printer setting• The driver for the supported printer which is installed after purchase isdeleted.• You need to execute initial registration again.Files that you have created using the save function (files in the D drive) are notaffected. However, Keysight recommends backing them up before executingsystem recovery for precautionary purposes. For more information on backup,refer to “Backing Up the Data” as described in E5063A Online Help.Procedure to execute the factory recoveryThis section describes how to return the contents of the C drive to the factorystate.Step 1. Shut down the E5063A.Step 2. Disconnect all of the USB device from the USB ports.Step 3. Connect the keyboard to the E5063A.Step 4. Press the standby switch of the E5063A to turn it on.*. The default setting of the hard disk is recovered during the system recovery. For thehard disk that had failed earlier and had been replaced (after purchase), its default settingmay not be the same as the factory state.Strictly follow the steps described below. If you do any operation otherthan the following steps, the system may not be recovered.You need a keyboard for this operation.
