Both sur-face units and oven heating elements may be hoteven though they are dark in color. Areas near sur-face units may become hot enough to cause burns.During and after use, do not touch, or let clothing orother flammable materials touch these areas untilthey have had sufficient time to cool. Among theseareas are the cooktop, surfaces facing the cooktop,the oven vent openings and surfaces near theseopenings, oven door and window.• Wear Proper Apparel — Loose-fitting or hanginggarments should never be worn while using theappliance. Do not let clothing or other flammablematerials contact hot surfaces.Never use your appliance for warm-ing or heating the room.• Do Not Use Water or Flour on Grease Fires —Smother the fire with a pan lid, or use bakingsoda, a dry chemical or foam-type extinguisher.• When heating fat or grease, watch it closely. Fator grease may catch fire if allowed to become toohot.• Use Only Dry Potholders — Moist or damppotholders on hot surfaces may result in burnsfrom steam. Do not let the potholders touch hotheating surface units or interior oven elements. Donot use a towel or other bulky cloth instead of apotholder.• Do Not Heat Unopened Food Containers —Build-up of pressure may cause the container toburst and result in injury.• Remove the oven door from any unused range ifit is to be stored or discarded.• IMPORTANT — Do not attempt to operate theoven during a power failure. If the power fails, al-ways turn the oven off. If the oven is not turned offand the power resumes, the oven will begin to oper-ate again.
